The Clinic Supervisor at our New Albany and Pickerington locations provides clinical oversight and quality assurance to unlicensed and licensed staff, will make decisions for patient care, scheduling staff, and allocation of resources affecting patient care. The purpose of this position is to provide an effective, efficient, high-quality patient experience for our patients, to provide a welcoming environment for all clinic visitors, and to perform any other duties deemed necessary to insure optimal patient experience and physician support.

Essential Functions:

• Provides direct, individual clinical supervision for licensed and unlicensed clinical staff.
• Supervises the daily operations of assigned support functions (including patient experience, care team operations, appointment scheduling, check-in/check-out, collections, referrals, surgery scheduling, and other administrative duties) to ensure that all activities are conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner and in accordance with professional standards, budget constraints, internal policies/standards, procedures and/or applicable legal/regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for work assignments and daily operations.
• Assists Regional Market Leaders with hiring, training, and mentoring staff in conjunction with the Human Resources department. Develop and enhance staffing plans to support CPI’s goals. Implement performance management systems including objective goal-orientated appraisals and timely feedback to enhance staff. Supervise all aspects of corrective action, provide information on leaves of absence, and terminations. Ensure credentials, training, health and HR files of staff and providers are up-to-date and manage employee timekeeping system.
• Responsible for providing leadership, staff development, and management of key services in accordance with policies and procedures and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations in absence of Regional Market Leaders.
• Manage and monitor clinic staff scheduling and training. Regularly monitors provider schedules for proper coverage. Coordinate and assist with conducting quarterly staff meetings.
• Assists the Regional Market Leaders by providing professional and technical support to clinic staff and troubleshoots the delivery of patient care.
• Orders supplies and maintains appropriate stock for clinic operations.
• Effectively communicates with other employees by teaching and directing them as to the responsibilities of the job. Recognition of individual and team contributions/accomplishments.
• Promote open communication that facilitates staff input into decision-making, resolution of conflict, and collegiality among all team members.
• Supports provider patient intake; gathers and records vital signs, medical history, prepares patient for examination, and initiate urine drug screen tests (UDT) when needed.
• Discharge and provide patients with applicable documentation and handouts. Explain treatment plan, medications, diets and follow up instructions to patients as dictated by provider. Assist with scheduling and coordinating all outside orders/referrals, such as surgical referrals and outside imaging.
• Provide support to outside vendors and third parties while in the clinic.
• Act as clinic liaison for all providers and visitors.
• Answer phones and direct calls as the Clinic Supervisor.
• Coordinate same day add-on procedures with the ASC, as needed.
• Communicate with prior-authorization to assure payer guidelines are met for payment.
• Scribe for provider recording information, as needed.
• Participate and maintain the safety and dignity of patients at all times.
• Maintains patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Attends required staff, educational and training meetings.
• Communicate EMR System Updates.
• Help develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline established clinic processes and workflow, protocols as needed.

Requirements

• College degree preferred. Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or LPN program required.
• Evidence of strong leadership qualities. Frequently contributing to the improvement of the department and participate in committee participation, task force, etc.
• At least 2-5 years of lead or supervisory experience in healthcare.
• Strong organizational, judgment, communication and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure.
• Ability to multi-task and perform multiple priorities.
• Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and problem solve.
• Ability to contribute in a team environment and to provide excellent customer service.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current certification for medical assistant from an accredited program, or licensure as LPN required.
• BLS certified or obtain certification within three months of hire.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, speaking, grasping, and carrying.
• Occasional reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, and crouching.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed.
• May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed.
• Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine and phone
• This position may perform tasks which involve exposure to bodily fluid (blood, tissue, urine, bile, peritoneal fluid, etc.).
