Position SummaryThe University of Iowa Health Care Department of Radiology is seeking a Clinic Services Specialist to support patient access services and frontline clinic operations. This position is responsible for coordinating patient appointments, providing reception coverage, obtaining and completing required documentation, and utilizing Epic and work queues to support efficient scheduling and patient care.The Clinic Services Specialist works closely with multiple departments and external partners to facilitate effective communication and coordination of services. This role provides exceptional customer service, promotes a positive patient experience, and follows UI Health Care’s Standards of Excellence and Department of Radiology best practices. Position ResponsibilitiesSchedules patient appointments and tests and coordinates appointments with other University of Iowa Healthcare departments utilizing the EPIC systems to verify appointment availabilityPrepares external Radiology referrals for schedulingSchedules and coordinates patient appointments within multiple areas of RadiologyCoordinates appointments with clinics and specific providersIdentifies trends by communicating to the manager to facilitate opportunities for process improvement and modifications to the EPIC Radiant scheduling workflowsWorks with Radiology staff, clinics and referring physicians concerning policies and regulations as related to Radiology pre-authorizationsExplains scheduling policies as needed through written and oral communicationProvides reception coverageAnswers incoming clinic calls, field and answer questions, schedule appointments, route calls and relay messages appropriatelyAssists with resolving immediate scheduling issues by working directly with modality supervisor.
