The Clinic Lead is responsible for clinic flow and coordination of clinic staff daily work schedules in conjunction with the Office Manager. Assists with the daily clinical activities under the supervision of the physician, RN and/or nurse practitioner. A Brief Overview
The Clinic Lead is responsible for clinic flow and coordination of clinic staff daily work schedules in conjunction with the Office Manager. Assists with the daily clinical activities under the supervision of the physician, RN and/or nurse practitioner. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do

  • Provides managerial support when the Office Manager is off-site or unavailable.
  • Complies with established patient care guidelines, maintains clinic policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Performs patient care activities under the supervision of physician, RN, and/or Nurse Practitioner. Accurately obtains, organizes, and records necessary patient data.
  • Updates all patient records subsequent to clinical information from physicians, nurse practitioner, including lab, etc., and assists in maintaining pertinent records.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, orderly environment for the patients and staff.


Education/Formal Training Requirements

  • Required - Technical Degree or Diploma Nursing


Work Experience Requirements

  • Required - Clinic or physician office 1-3 years


Licenses and Certifications Requirements

  • Required - Licensed Practical Nurse - Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
  • Required - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
  • Preferred - Emergency Medical Personnel Tennessee - Tennessee Emergency Medical Services Division


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to read, write and understand verbal or written instructions.
  • Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with patients and families.
  • Demonstrates compassion and patience with a deep level of concern for patients.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally with others.
  • Knowledge of computer data entry/retrieval skills (MS Office Suite); prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to set priorities, coordinates and organizes multiple tasks, and maintains control of workflow.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times according to clinic policy and procedures and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to understand principles and implement basic procedures of infection control.


Supervision Provided by this Position

  • Provides supervisory support, direction, and guidance when the Office Manager is off-site.


Physical Demands

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
  • Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
