Clinic Athletic Trainer to support our Sports Medicine physician, our patients and clinic responsibilities. Clinic Hours: Monday through Friday, 8a - 5p

Pay Range:

$26.55 - $39.85

Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute (MSKI) Ballantyne is a collaborative outpatient sports medicine and orthopedic practice dedicated to helping patients of all ages stay active and recover from injury. As part of a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, and athletic trainers, the Clinic Athletic Trainer provides injury evaluation, patient education, care coordination, rehabilitation support, and injury prevention services to optimize patient outcomes and promote healthy, active lifestyles.

This position supports our primary Sports Medicine Physician in a clinic setting. The Athletic Trainer provides patient education regarding injury prevention, anatomy, body mechanics, and rehabilitation. The primary mission of the Athletic Trainer is to progress patients and athletes through rehabilitation protocols and return them functionally to a state comparable to pre-injury. Additional responsibilities include rooming patients, checking in basket messages, DME application, preparing home exercise plans, injections, medication refills and authorizations and working closely with team members to provide best patient care.

The Athletic Trainer provides patient education regarding injury prevention, anatomy, body mechanics, and rehabilitation. The primary mission of the Athletic Trainer is to progress athletes through rehabilitation protocols and return them functionally to a state comparable to pre-injury.

The qualified candidate will possess the following:
A. Education
1. High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required
2. Completion of an accredited curriculum established by the National Association of Athletic Trainers (NATA) Board of Certification required

B. Experience
1. Knowledge of the Athletic Training profession as normally acquired through academic experience, clinical affiliations, and/or previous work experience in the field

C. Licensure/Certification
1. Licensed as an Athletic Trainer NATA Board of Certification/applicable state Athletic Trainers Associations
