Job Summary

The Climate and Customer Outcomes Team is responsible for enabling HP's climate strategy through climate-data management, life cycle assessments (LCAs), decarbonization initiatives, environmental disclosures, climate-risk assessments, customer climate-data solutions, and industry engagement. The team partners across GBU, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Finance, Responsible Sourcing, CREWS, and customer-facing organizations to provide the data, insights, and tools needed to support HP's sustainability ambitions and reporting obligations.

The Climate Team Operations Specialist provides operational, analytical, and project management support across the Climate Team's climate-data, LCA, decarbonization, disclosure, customer engagement, and Climate risk-management activities. The role combines strong organizational and communication skills with data-analysis capabilities to improve team effectiveness, support decision making, and enable scalable climate-data operations.

The position serves as a key operational partner to Climate Team by managing projects, developing reporting dashboards, conducting analyses, maintaining governance processes, and supporting the delivery of climate-data products, disclosures, customer requests, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, scorecards, and operational metrics to support Climate Team decision making.
  • Analyze climate, LCA, disclosure, customer, and project-delivery datasets to identify trends, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support climate-data collection, validation, consolidation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Prepare recurring reporting packages, KPI updates, and management reviews for Climate Team leadership.
  • Assist with data visualization and creation of executive-ready presentations and insights.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to support strategic business decisions.

Project & Operational Management

  • Coordinate Climate Team projects, milestones, schedules, deliverables, dependencies, and action tracking.
  • Support implementation of team operating rhythms, governance processes, and delivery reviews.
  • Track progress against key team objectives, climate-data deliverables, disclosure timelines, and customer commitments.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and workflow optimizations.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and workstreams as a contributing project team member.

Governance, Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain documentation, operating procedures (SOPs), project records, governance materials, and audit-support evidence.
  • Support records-retention requirements, policy management activities, and knowledge-management repositories.
  • Assist with preparation of materials supporting disclosures, customer requests, risk assessments, audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure key methodologies, assumptions, decisions, and project outputs are appropriately documented and retained.

Research & Business Support

  • Conduct market assessments, competitive benchmarking, and research on climate solutions, decarbonization, sustainability reporting, and industry trends.
  • Support customer carbon-data inquiries by gathering information, coordinating responses, and tracking completion.
  • Prepare briefing materials, background research, and analyses
  • Support workshops, stakeholder engagements, training sessions, and cross-functional meetings.

Education & Experience Required

  • Four-year degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Geography, Supply Chain, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Typically 2-4 years of experience in sustainability, data analytics, business operations, project management, reporting, consulting, environmental programs, or a related field.
  • Experience working with data analysis, reporting tools, dashboards, KPIs, or business intelligence platforms preferred.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects and stakeholder engagement activities preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data analysis, data modeling, KPI reporting, or business intelligence tools.
  • Familiarity with sustainability, climate, carbon accounting, LCA, ESG reporting, or environmental data.
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, Power Query, or data automation tools.
  • Experience working with large datasets and translating findings into actionable business insights.
