About ESG

The ESG team is built to deliver credible sustainability performance to both internal and external stakeholders in an agile, synergistic, and collaborative way, supported by robust processes and data.

Your Key Accountabilities

In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the business units across regions and functions in their sustainability related questions, facilitate knowledge sharing, and bring consistency to how we address sustainability across Umicore.

You will work in the ESG Climate and product sustainability analytics center of expertise.

Specifically, you will:

  • Perform and update life cycle assessment, including data collection, data quality analysis, calculation and reporting;
  • Support the development and implementation of a Group-wide product sustainability assessment;
  • Support in reviewing Group policies on decarbonization related topics;
  • Support in analyzing LCA and product sustainability related regulatory developments;
  • Maintain and improve LCA models;
  • Review decarbonization data from sites;
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations;
  • Participate in external life cycle and sustainability working groups.
Who we are looking for

We are looking for a reliable and proactive ESG associate to support our Climate and product sustainability analytics center of expertise. This role is ideal for someone with passion about sustainability who enjoys interacting with various stakeholders, and supporting sustainability improvement processes.

You will work closely with the Sustainability and ESG Senior Professional.

  • You have a master level degree in engineering, sustainability science or policy or related fields;
  • You bring 1-3 years of relevant experience;
  • You have a strong knowledge of ISO 14040 / 14044;
  • You have hands-on LCA experience (cradle-to-gate and cradle-to-grave) Experience with LCA for Experts (previously GaBi) is a plus;
  • You have a basic understanding of product sustainability principles;
  • You support projects with energy and help driving progress;
  • You combine analytical thinking with curiosity and pragmatic problem-solving, communicating clearly with stakeholders;
  • You work independently yet thrive on teamwork, building strong connections across regions and functions to make things happen.
