Job Description

Deliver accurate tax reporting and withholding outcomes by reconciling banking and tax systems across multiple markets. Lead a control-focused team, partnering with operations and tax stakeholders to improve accuracy, timeliness, and compliance

As a Team Leader within Wealth Management – IPB Tax Ops, you lead reconciliation between banking and tax systems to produce tax reporting (UK/Indonesia/France/Germany) and oversee withholding review and payments for select markets. You manage end-to-end delivery of gain/loss tax reports and timely withholding on security and deposit income, ensuring strong risk and controls and adherence to service level standards. You act as a subject matter expert, coordinating with upstream operations and Corporate Tax/front office stakeholders, while coaching team members and maintaining KPI/MIS discipline.

Job Responsibilities

  • Reconcile banking and tax systems to prepare and review tax reports and gain/loss statements with high accuracy and limited supervision.
  • Review transaction feeds across products/security types and perform tax withholding review and remittance to relevant tax authorities across markets.
  • Liaise with upstream operations teams (Asset Servicing, Middle Office Trade Support/Derivatives, Securities Transfers, Hedge Funds, Settlements) to resolve linkages, breaks, and corrections.
  • Interpret corporate events and fund movements and apply them appropriately within tax engines to ensure correct reporting outcomes.
  • Analyze transactional activity for tax implications and support operational implementation of new or changing tax laws and requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder queries and relationships across front office, Corporate Tax, technology, and product, escalating issues and driving timely resolution.
  • Lead team delivery by maintaining KPIs/SOPs/MIS, ensuring SLA adherence, managing performance, and training/coaching new hires.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • 3+ years relevant experience with understanding of tax reporting/withholding operations and gain/loss reporting delivery
  • Knowledge of global financial securities and instruments with strong attention to detail and accuracy focus
  • Strong risk and controls mindset, analytical/problem-solving capability, and ability to work under pressure with strong time management
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Word, Access and excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Knowledge of UK and US tax and ability to interpret tax-law changes and translate into operational actions
  • Understanding of corporate actions and the trade lifecycle and their impact on tax reporting and withholding
  • Prior experience as an SME partnering with Corporate Actions, stock reconciliation, and global trade settlements teams
  • Demonstrated people leadership capability including performance management, training delivery, and cross-functional stakeholder influence
