At Uniting, our purpose is simple but powerful: to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice. We’re an organisation that challenges the status quo and works where we’re needed most, and our technology and systems play a critical role in enabling that impact.
We’re now seeking an experienced Client Systems Management Lead to take ownership of a suite of critical client management systems that support multiple portfolios across Uniting. This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape system performance, governance and continuous improvement in a complex, purpose-driven environment.
About the role
This role sits within the Care and Clinical Systems & Reporting team and is accountable for the end-to-end oversight, optimisation and governance of key client management systems used across Communities and Property services.
You will lead a team of four and operate with a high level of autonomy, driving solution design (within vendor constraints), prioritisation, release management and delivery coordination through established governance frameworks.
The role requires a strong balance of technical capability, business analysis, leadership and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on delivering stable, secure and continuously improving systems that enable better outcomes for clients and frontline teams.
Key responsibilities
Leadership & team capability
• Lead, coach and develop a team of system specialists, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
• Establish clear ways of working, ensuring consistent use of tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Build capability across the team and broader user groups through structured training and support frameworks
System ownership & governance
• Maintain end-to-end accountability for system performance, stability and sustainability
• Oversee system configuration, hygiene and optimisation to ensure fitness for purpose
• Lead security and access governance including permission models, access reviews and audit readiness
• Ensure strong data governance, integrity and quality across all client management systems
Delivery, change & continuous improvement
• Lead requirements discovery, analysis and documentation, translating business needs into practical solutions
• Apply fit-for-purpose project and release management practices across all system changes
• Oversee UAT and SIT processes, ensuring robust testing, defect management and quality assurance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance system capability
Stakeholder & vendor engagement
• Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across operational teams, Digital Technology and external vendors
• Lead user forums and engagement channels to capture insights, issues and innovation opportunities
• Influence decision-making and manage competing priorities across a complex organisational landscape
Integration & enterprise alignment
• Ensure effective integration and connectivity across systems and platforms
• Actively manage system interdependencies, risks and issues
• Partner across Uniting to deliver seamless, end-to-end service outcomes
About you
You are a confident and capable systems leader who thrives in complexity and is motivated by purpose-driven work.
You will bring:
• 5+ years’ experience in enterprise systems, business technology or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience working with client management systems and complex system environments
• Proven ability to lead and develop small teams, driving performance and accountability
• Strong experience in data governance, reporting and system integrity
• Experience delivering end-to-end system enhancements, upgrades and business solutions
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across all levels
• A structured, disciplined and solutions-focused approach
Highly regarded:
• Experience in the Not-for-Profit, health, community or government sectors
• Exposure to Agile, ITIL or similar delivery frameworks
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, systems, education or a related field
