About the Role

Are you passionate about animals and providing outstanding customer service? Veterinary Referral Hospital Dandenong is seeking a Casual Client Services Representative to join our team.

In this flexible role, you’ll be the first point of contact for our clients, playing a vital role in ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for both pets and their owners—particularly in urgent and high-pressure situations. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, adaptable, and able to remain calm and professional at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for all client interactions, both in person and over the phone
  • Manage a multi-line switchboard, including handling high volumes of calls efficiently
  • Triage and respond appropriately to emergency patient enquiries, escalating when required
  • Coordinate appointments, inquiries, and client communications
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation
  • Provide clear information on services, pricing, and hospital policies
  • Liaise with veterinary staff to support seamless patient care
  • Process payments and handle basic financial transactions
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organised, and welcoming
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as required

About You

  • Previous experience in a client service role (veterinary or healthcare experience highly regarded)
  • Confident managing a busy switchboard and high call volumes
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful or emergency situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A team player who can also work independently when required
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Passion for animals and commitment to excellent customer service
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays (day and evenings)
