Job Description

We’re BDO, a global professional services firm connected to local markets. Our people work together to provide specialist expertise, helping businesses achieve their goals.

We inspire others, to go further. We create together, to reach higher. We build trust, to lead purposefully.

Whether you're building your future or starting your career with us, you won’t do it alone. From creating solutions for our clients to building careers for our people, we shape what matters, and that’s where you come in.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Client Services Officer who takes ownership, contributes ideas, and plays an active role in how a high-performing team operates.

As part of a global firm, BDO Private Wealth Advisers is known for combining deep technical capability with a highly personalised, relationship-driven approach built on long-standing client relationships.

In this role, you’ll manage the end-to-end client service experience, working closely with Advisers to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes. You’ll also contribute to how the team operates day-to-day: supporting others, improving processes, and helping drive an efficient, well-run environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end operational and administrative support across the firm’s high net worth client base
  • Assist advisers with client queries, delivering timely and professional service
  • Prepare for client reviews, including data gathering, documentation and checklist coordination
  • Help implement recommendations from Statements of Advice and prepare associated documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain and update client records within Xplan and internal systems
  • Provide ongoing support to Advisers to enable efficient and high-quality client outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and workflows
  • Support and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge, providing informal mentoring, and helping build team capability
  • Work collaboratively across the team to manage workflow, priorities and deadlines

About you

  • Brings strong, hands-on experience in a Client Service Officer (or similar) role within financial planning, with the confidence to operate independently within established processes
  • Able to work effectively within a developing team environment, offering guidance, stability and practical support to others
  • Strong understanding of financial planning administration, processes and documentation
  • Advanced capability in Xplan, with the ability to optimise its use to support efficient and consistent client outcomes
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confident communicator with strong relationship management skills
  • Strong interpersonal awareness, with the ability to navigate relationships thoughtfully and contribute to a positive team dynamic
  • Mature, proactive and solutions-focused, with a natural inclination to improve how work is done
  • Enjoys building deep expertise in client service and operational excellence
  • Demonstrates initiative and leadership qualities, with a willingness to take on broader responsibility as the team evolves
