What you’ll do

  • Lead a team of Support Workers across multiple services in the Northeast suburbs of Adelaide, in providing outstanding client outcomes and partner with management to support efficient service delivery and operational excellence.
  • Champion a high performing and empowered team; drive continuous improvement that enhances the lives of people with a disability; and support Cara’s strategic and operational goals.
  • Oversee the delivery of Supported Independent Living (SIL), Short Term Accommodation (STA); Home Community Support (HCS) services, Day Options, or other services provided by Cara, in their clusters.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Quality and Safeguarding Framework and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Work with team members to help them understand and achieve performance expectations, build their capability, provide regular recognition, develop, and utilise talent in the team, and identify and achieve improved client outcomes and increase employee engagement.
  • Ensure that duties are performed in keeping with the principles outlined in Cara’s Vision, Values, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Some out of ordinary office - hours work (including Emergency Response).

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting people with disabilities, including those with complex behaviours and health needs, and working collaboratively with clients and allied health/medical professionals.
  • Strong people leadership skills to engage, inspire, build trust, coach, and facilitate growth.
  • Strong conceptual, analytic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively, resolve issues constructively and devise appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including communicating with diverse audiences.
  • A commitment to person-centred approaches and its application within service provision.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate, valid full Driver’s Licence and a NDIS Worker clearance.
  • Have valid work visa and rights to work in Australia.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Disability, Community Management, Social or Human Services or a related field. In addition, certifications in business, management, or leadership will be highly regarded.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
