Jefferies has been expanding its business in Tokyo, and we are now looking for a dedicated person and detail-oriented Client Onboarding Specialist to join our Japan team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding process for our new clients, providing exceptional service and support while fostering long-term relationships. This position requires strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and a deep understanding of the Japanese market.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

• Coordinate with sales and account management teams to gather all necessary client information and documentation.
• Conduct thorough reviews of client documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Facilitate the client onboarding process by acting as the primary point of contact for new clients.
• Develop and implement onboarding plans tailored to each client's specific needs and requirements, with particular attention to the nuances of the Japanese market.
• Ensure timely completion of all onboarding activities, including account setup, system access, and training, while adhering to Japanese business practices and regulations.
• Conduct name screening and ensure all adverse news has been cleared, documented, and escalated appropriately.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new clients to ensure a positive onboarding experience, emphasizing the importance of trust and reliability, which are highly valued in Japanese business culture.
• Address any client concerns or issues promptly and effectively, escalating to the appropriate teams when necessary.

• Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients as they transition from onboarding to regular account management, ensuring continual alignment with their evolving needs and expectations.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience working with Japanese clients and a strong understanding of the Japanese market.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both Japanese and English.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
