Job Description

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to lead the Broker Set Up and Corporate Action Fund Set Up functions within Middle Office Operations. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, support client onboarding and conversions, maintain strong risk and control standards, drive process improvements, and lead a team responsible for critical static and reference data supporting trade processing and corporate action servicing.

Why This Role Is Important to Us

The Broker & Corporate Action Fund Set Up team plays a critical role in maintaining accurate and complete reference data that supports global trade processing and corporate action servicing. The team manages broker onboarding, investment manager and fund setup, standing instructions, custodian mappings, and corporate action fund maintenance, enabling efficient transaction processing and accurate client servicing.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Broker Set Up and Corporate Action Fund Set Up teams, ensuring requests are completed within established service-level agreements and quality standards.
  • Monitor workflow volumes, prioritize deliverables, manage team capacity, and act as the primary escalation point for operational and client-impacting issues.
  • Oversee the creation, modification, and maintenance of broker records, matching groups, trade-processing attributes, translations, settlement instructions, and related reference data.
  • Manage investment manager, fund, custodian, and static data setup activities supporting middle-office trade processing.
  • Oversee corporate action fund setup, maintenance, closures, overrides, standing instructions, and fund attributes within GCAS and related platforms.
  • Coordinate reference-data updates arising from client onboarding, conversions, fund launches, migrations, and operational changes.
  • Partner with Client Onboarding, Alpha Integration, Operations, Technology, and business teams to support new client implementations and large-scale conversions.
  • Maintain a robust risk and control environment through quality reviews, trend analysis, root cause analysis, remediation tracking, audit readiness, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Build effective relationships with global stakeholders and provide regular reporting on operational performance, productivity, risks, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and implement automation, analytics, and workflow improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, operational resilience, and client experience.
  • Manage, coach, and develop team members through performance management, talent development, succession planning, engagement, recruitment, onboarding, and training.

What We Value

  • Strong leadership, stakeholder-management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of broker setup, reference data, corporate actions, middle-office operations, client onboarding, trade processing, or asset servicing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in operational risk management, controls, governance, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver consistently within defined service-level agreements.
  • A collaborative and accountable approach with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Education and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ or more years of financial-services experience, including at least 2 years of supervisory or people-management experience.
  • Experience in Broker Set Up, Reference Data, Corporate Actions, Middle Office Operations, Client Onboarding, or Asset Servicing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data validation, operational reporting, dashboard development, trend analysis, and decision support.
  • Working knowledge of Power Query, Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, generative AI tools, or similar automation and data-transformation technologies is preferred.
