Reports To: China Director (Producer)

EA SPORTS is one of the most iconic brands of entertainment - connecting hundreds of millions around the world to the sports they love through a portfolio of industry-leading video games.

Develop and maintain features and content for the game client. This role primarily uses C++ and visual scripting. The Software Engineer will work closely with producers, designers, and other engineers to develop game content, integrate platform features, and resolve issues to ensure a high-quality player experience. Working under the guidance of a Lead Engineer and/or Technical Director, the successful candidate will provide accurate task estimates, manage their time effectively, and deliver high-quality features and live-service support for a AAA free-to-play online title. The role also involves investigating live-service issues and collaborating with publishing partners to provide technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve game client technical issues and help deliver a stable and high-quality gameplay experience.

  • Develop new features and maintain existing systems using C++ and visual scripting within the internal engine.

  • Interpret game design requirements and implement game content and platform features.

  • Collaborate closely with other engineers, producers, and game designers to deliver the overall vision of the game.

  • Maintain code quality through code reviews, testing, and bug fixing.

  • Integrate and maintain third-party libraries and SDKs.

  • Support cross-functional teams, including art, design, and production, by developing tools and improving workflows.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 7+ years of software development experience, preferably in the video game industry with live-service experience.

  • Strong proficiency in C++.

  • Experience developing a variety of game features and content, with a strong understanding of UI/UX implementation workflows.

  • Experience with object-oriented design and software architecture.

  • Demonstrated understanding of software engineering best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.

  • Experience shipping at least one commercial video game title; live-service experience is a plus.

Additional Skills

  • Experience in networking, rendering, AI, or animation systems is a plus.

  • Experience with or knowledge of visual scripting systems or equivalent UI frameworks used in commercial game engines.

  • Experience with or knowledge of mobile game development is not required but would be considered an asset.

  • Proficiency with modern AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools.

  • Passion for video games and a commitment to creating high-quality player experiences.

Soft Skills

  • Proficiency in Korean or English is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

  • Continuously seeks opportunities to improve product quality and team productivity.

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies, concepts, and solutions.

  • Demonstrates strong ownership, accountability, and commitment to delivering results.
