Job Description

As part of our ambition to accelerate in Belgium, we are looking for a Client Director to take ownership of a portfolio of clients, building excellent client relationships while driving client and business growth and expanding dentsu’s footprint within the Belgian market.

Role purpose

As Client Director, you are fully accountable for the commercial success, growth, and strategic development of a portfolio of key clients within dentsu Belgium.
You act as both a trusted strategic advisor and a commercial leader, responsible for transforming client relationships into long-term value partnerships and driving sustainable revenue growth and profitability
This role goes beyond traditional client servicing: you are expected to identify, unlock, and convert growth opportunities, leveraging dentsu’s full capabilities across media, data, and technology.
To be an ambassador for the business, connecting across internal and external networks to deliver the operating model and build the brand reputation of dentsu.

Key Accountabilities

Client Leadership

- Builds and maintains strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and industry partners;

- Responsible for delivering outstanding client service and working with Commercial Director and Client Management Team to design and execute an appropriate contact strategy and client service plan as well as ensuring that the client scope of work is being met to a consistently high standard;

- Understands client’s business needs and challenges constructively and proactively introduces new opportunities and innovation;

Delivers a business development plan (KAP) for each client to ensure that opportunities to grow are maximized;
Manages and monitors the quality of work, client satisfaction and profitability of the client;
Organizes innovation sessions for the client & stimulates creation and sharing of client success cases.

Commercial Management

Responsible for closing commercial contracts and for sharing all relevant documents with the client teams;
Works with Commercial Director to ensure forecasting and Client P&L management process are delivered accurately and managed appropriately including Salesforce opportunities
Identifies up and cross selling opportunities within dentsu together with Commercial Director;
Identifies new business development opportunities and participates in new business pitches - applies knowledge of dentsu services to influence and contribute to innovative, ambitious and value driven solutions;
Further strengthens and expands the relationships with our local media partners (f.e. Google, Bing & Facebook) and integrates them into the client strategy.

Motivates the team to set realistic yet stretched annual development plans;
Role models a culture of ongoing feedback to drive continuous learning;
Drives knowledge development and knowledge sharing within the client teams;
Drives a high engagement culture;

Professional skills

Digital mindset & capabilities

Strong digital mindset with the ability to translate digital trends and innovations into tangible business growth and client value;
Ability to connect media, data, and technology into integrated solutions that drive measurable business impact and future-proof client strategies;
Solid understanding of the local digital landscape (NL & BE), including key media platforms, publishers, and technology ecosystems;
Knowledge of digital marketing channels and strategies (e.g. search, social, programmatic, retail media, e-commerce, and data-driven marketing);
Ability to connect media, data and technology to create integrated and future-proof client solutions.

Commercial acumen

- Strong commercial mindset with a clear focus on driving revenue growth, profitability, and client value creation;

- Influencing skills and diplomacy skills;

- Ability to translate strategic plans into commercially viable solutions aligned with client business objectives;

- Knowledge of dentsu’s capabilities, with the ability to translate these into compelling commercial propositions.

Client Relationship Management

Ability to understand client needs: thorough knowledge and understanding of their drivers i.e. clients’ culture, business objectives and media strategy;
Strategic thinking: ability to think out of the box to present innovative solutions to client challenges;
Relationship building skills: ability to think and act proactively to create regular contact opportunities, to share information, experience and insight with client to build trust and mutual respect; ability to attain position of Trusted Advisor to client.

Key Experience

5+ years of working experience in a similar position or a commercial role on the agency or client side;
Experience with working at senior level;
Management of a range of team sizes and diversity of experience levels;
Experience in advising complex (international) clients in a digital context;
Coaching direct reports;
Training and presenting (public speaking);
Client Management;
Project Management;
Budget / P&L Management.
