The opportunity

We are sourcing a bilingual Client Development Manager to join our AIA Retail Distribution team in Sydney or Melbourne. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Client Development, you will drive new business growth and play a key role in bringing AIA’s multicultural strategy to life

You will do this by ensuring our partner and adviser engagement model reflects the diversity of communities we serve and supports equitable access to advice across culturally and linguistically diverse market segments.

The multicultural strategy represents a core enabler of our ambition to protect more Australians, to deepen our engagement with the communities we serve and to grow in a sustainable and culturally informed way.

This important role will help accelerate our vision and strengthens our ability to support a healthier, longer, better life for every customer.

To do this successfully, you will:

  • Actively develop, support and embed AIA’s multilingual strategy through adviser and partner engagement, education and growth initiatives
  • Help deliver culturally aligned support and services that enhance the experience for advisers and their clients.
  • Lift capabilities through targeted learning and development that builds confidence in serving multicultural clients.
  • Create stronger shared value by bringing the voice of multicultural communities into our strategy through you, our advisers.
  • Harness a multicultural partnership ecosystem so that together we can thrive and better support the communities we serve.
  • Support a panel of key advisers, assisting them to grow their businesses in a way that is mutually beneficial and aligned to AIA’s strategic priorities
  • Develop and expand channel customer relationships to support sustainable sales and market growth
  • Build and deepen strong relationships with key advisers and local dealer group management, including those supporting multilingual and diverse client communities
  • Meet annual production and retention targets across the Life and Health Insurance portfolios
  • Champion and consistently apply the Client Development Management model
  • Provide high-quality product education and ongoing support to advisers and their support staff
  • Raise the profile of AIA and its multicultural strategy at professional development days, conferences and industry events at both a state and national level
  • Act as a role model for AIA values, behaviours and the BE THE DIFFERENCE strategy in all internal and external engagements

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Proven business development experience within the life insurance or broader financial services industry
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin or Hindi highly regarded
  • Multilingual capability is highly regarded, with the ability to leverage language skills and cultural awareness to support advisers and customers from diverse backgrounds
  • RG146 qualification
  • Successful completion of a Diploma of Financial Services
  • Exceptional customer and stakeholder engagement capability
  • A strong understanding of how adviser partnerships, including multilingual and community-focused advice models, support broader business strategy and customer outcomes
