Job Description

The Client Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of client accounts, resolving breaks across cash and positions, and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external custodians. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding data integrity and supporting operational efficiency within the investment process.

Responsibilities

Reconciliation & Break Resolution

  • Perform daily cash and position reconciliations using systems such as Electra and Eagle.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks promptly to maintain accurate client records.

Custodian & Internal Team Coordination

  • Liaise with custodians to resolve data discrepancies and ensure timely settlement of trades.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Portfolio Management, Fund Treasury, Settlements) to address exceptions and operational issues.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and review monthly reconciled positions reports and sign-off on month-end holdings.
  • Support audit requirements, including SSAE-16 testing and internal control documentation.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline reconciliation workflows and enhance data accuracy.
  • Assist in implementing system upgrades and automation initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in investment operations or client accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of reconciliation processes and investment accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in reconciliation tools (Electra, Eagle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Clear and effective communication skills for working with internal teams and external custodians.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
