Job Description

As an experienced accounting manager specializing in post-acquisition transitions, are you looking for an opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of private-company clients?

We are seeking an experienced Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager with deep expertise in post-close acquisition accounting for privately held companies. This role will lead client engagements involving purchase price accounting (PPA), net working capital (NWC) true-ups, post-acquisition accounting system design and software implementations, and post-close accounting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, exceptional project management capabilities, and a client-service mindset to help newly acquired businesses transition seamlessly into their post-transaction financial reporting environment.

Post-Close Acquisition Accounting

  • Lead end-to-end post-close accounting processes for privately held clients following mergers and acquisitions.

  • Oversee and prepare accounting schedules, opening balance sheet adjustments, and documentation in accordance with GAAP.

  • Manage net working capital (NWC) true-up calculations, analyses, and negotiations in collaboration with buyers, sellers, and internal/external stakeholders.

  • Provide technical accounting guidance on issues arising during integration, including revenue recognition, leases, inventory, and equity arrangements.

Systems & Software Implementation

  • Lead or support the implementation of accounting and ERP software for newly acquired entities, ensuring accurate data migration and alignment with client reporting needs.

  • Design and document accounting workflows, control processes, and reporting structures to support scalable post-close operations.

  • Partner with client leadership to identify system gaps and recommend technology solutions that enhance financial reporting efficiency.

Client Management & Advisory

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, delivering high-quality service and proactive communication throughout engagements.

  • Translate complex accounting issues into clear, actionable recommendations for non-accounting stakeholders.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with valuation professionals, auditors, tax advisors, and internal team members.

  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support new service offerings related to financial operations.

Team Leadership & Quality Control

  • Manage, coach, and develop staff and senior accountants supporting engagement work.

  • Review and ensure accuracy of deliverables, analyses, and financial statements.

  • Contribute to CAS practice development, including methodology enhancement, best-practice documentation, and training initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred

  • 5–8+ years of experience in accounting, with significant exposure to M&A, post-close integration, purchase price accounting, or transaction advisory

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606

  • Experience leading accounting software implementations preferred (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Xero, Ramp, Bill.com).

  • Proven experience, managing multiple client engagements and delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and client-relationship skills.

  • Ability to lead teams, provide mentorship, and manage project timelines and budgets.
