SALARY (A-E Steps)
$20.50 - $24.92 Hourly/$1,640.00 - $1,993.60 Biweekly
$22.63 - $27.50 Hourly/$1,810.40 - $2,200.00 Biweekly
About the Department: The Clerk and Recorder’s department is comprised of three separate branches that provide specific services and functions: Clerk and Recorder, Clerk of the Board and Elections. About the Position: Provides a variety of specialized clerical support activities to the County Clerk and Recorder Office, which may include word processing, data entry and organization, telephone and counter reception, processing records and legal documents, record keeping, report preparation, and filing and provides information and assistance to the general public.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter who is punctual and has excellent attention to detail. They should possess clerical experience, strong customer service skills and be comfortable working on a computer. The chosen candidate for this current vacancy will be utilized primarily in Elections.

Clerk/Elections Specialist I | Clerk/Elections Specialist II
Clerk/Elections Specialist I/II: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
Clerk/Elections Specialist I: One (1) year of administrative support with public contact. Experience in a government agency desired.
Clerk/Elections Specialist II: Two (2) years of administrative support experience including the equivalent of one (1) year as a Clerk/Elections Specialist I with the County of Tehama.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
The department is currently recruiting for one (1) vacancy.
In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for a Clerk/Elections Specialist I/II, as well as subsequent vacancies which occur during the life of the eligibility list.

New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning step of the salary range. Candidates who exceed entry level qualifications may be considered, with approval from the Board of Supervisors, for placement at other than A step.
