Beaver County Children and Youth Services has an immediate opening for a Clerk Typist 3. The purpose of our agency is to provide social services to children and their families where child abuse and/or neglect have been reported and/or substantiated. This position supports these important services by ensuring agency work activity and consumer information are documented accurately and completing other tasks to help the office operate smoothly.

Examples of duties

This position performs vital work that helps agency staff with client and court communication and recordkeeping. Success in this role relies on excellent organizational skills, computer adeptness, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. As a Clerk Typist 3, you will perform the following duties:


  • Clerical Support: Type letters, forms, labels, correspondence, and reports; make copies of various documents as directed
  • Record Keeping: Scan, upload, retrieve, and print documents into the agency case management system; update both electronic and physical files
  • Communication: Answer the phone and greet visitors
  • Event Assistance: Help plan and execute events including staff and advisory board meetings as well as client benefit events
  • The Mail Run: Drive a county vehicle to complete a weekly mail run to the county courthouse
  • Office Organization: Order and maintain office supply inventory, separate and distribute faxes, perform related work as assigned


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 2, and educational development to the level of completion of high school; or
  • One year of progressively complex clerical typing experience and completion of high school; or
  • Six months of moderately complex clerical typing work and completion of a post high school business curriculum; or
  • Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.


Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
