Pay: $17.75 per hour

Work Schedule: Full-time, Shift Schedule

Join our team at the El Valle Detention Facility in Raymondville, Texas.

Position Summary:

Reports to the classification/records supervisor. Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to records administration in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

Essential Functions:

  1. Perform count room duties ensuring an accurate facility count.
  2. Prepare and review intake packets. Proofread records or forms including arrival and release files; copy needed information from one record to another as required.
  3. Operate office equipment such as computers, fax machine, and copy machine.
  4. Perform input and output operations and make adjustments necessary to ensure schedules are met.
  5. Perform duties including typing correspondence, form letters, accountability forms, status reports and input/output forms in a timely manner.
  6. Perform data entry.
  7. Maintain files on department records, cards, forms and correspondence sent, received and/or requiring further action.
  8. Proofread records or forms.
  9. Regular attendance required.
  10. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
  11. Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and computer proficiency required. One (1) year of clerical, administrative or related experience, including computer data entry experience is preferred. Must successfully complete required pre service training. Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and maintain appropriate facility clearance.
