Job Description

As the Clerical Associate on SMCC, you are the communication and organization hub for a fast‑paced 41‑bed surgical/medical unit. You support nurses, providers, patients, and families while helping the unit run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This role is perfect for someone who wants to grow in healthcare, build confidence, and be part of a high‑performing team.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate activity at the nurse’s station
  • Support nurses, providers, patients, and visitors
  • Manage phones, call lights, communication, and paging
  • Maintain forms, supplies, and patient education materials
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and EMR tasks
  • Help keep the unit safe, organized, and running smoothly

Requirements

  • BLS within six months
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Successfully complete Epic training (provided)
