The Clerical Associate (CA) coordinates daily unit functioning to assist RN, physician, ancillary and support staff to provide high quality patient care. They also provide superior service to all internal and external customers. The CA must be able to demonstrate the proper use of communication devices to carry out unit functioning. The ability to communicate technical and regulatory requirements to key stakeholder groups, including patient and family, accurately and in a service-oriented manner is required.
Unit Description:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a designated Level III unit. The unit is comprised of 24 neonatal beds, a parent apartment, and a respiratory therapy area. Our unit is devoted to providing world-class health care for sick or preterm newborns. Utilizing the latest technology, and evidence-based medicine, we have built a skilled and experienced team that is devoted to caring for newborns. We combine family-centered care with expertise and leading-edge treatment to ensure optimal outcomes and emphasize the importance of loved ones in the care of their newborn. Our NICU services include a Developmental Care program, Neonatal Transport team, 24-hour Lactation services, Parent Support program, NicView Web Cam program and a NICU Developmental Follow Up Clinic. We enjoy having students and new staff in our unit. Our staff work closely together. Teamwork is essential in our busy unit.
