Examples of duties
This role focuses on reviewing and processing motor vehicle and driver licensing applications while assisting customers in person and by phone. You will manage records, payments, and documentation with accuracy and care. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Application Processing: Examine and process motor vehicle and driver licensing applications using computer systems
- Customer Service: Communicate with customers in person or by phone to provide guidance and answer questions
- Payment Handling: Process cash, checks, money orders, and card payments in accordance with guidelines
- Document Verification: Review identity, residency, and ownership documents to ensure authenticity
- Record Updates: Maintain accurate motor vehicle and licensing records and monitor office supplies
- Training Assistance: Support supervisors by helping train new employees and reinforce proper procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours/week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime may be available after training is complete. Mandatory overtime may apply.
- You may be required to work when a full day and/or partial-day office closing is authorized. This may include early dismissals for inclement weather, the day before holidays, and special holiday closings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
