Examples of duties

This position supports office operations by handling communication, records, and staff information for SCI Mercer.

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Call Handling: Direct incoming calls and guide callers to the correct information
  • Document Production: Type memos, reports, forms, and correspondence using multiple software programs
  • Data Management: Enter and update information in mainframe systems, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Attendance Processing: Record attendance, resolve error reports, and process staff schedule substitutions
  • Meeting Support: Take minutes at designated meetings and prepare them for distribution after review
  • Supply Coordination: Order office supplies as directed and assist other departments when assigned

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment; 37.5 hour work week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60/65.
  • Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school: or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of Basic Training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
