This position supports office operations that keep the institution running efficiently. The role ensures that communication, documentation, and coordination tasks are handled with accuracy and care. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Confidentiality Practices: Maintain confidentiality for staff, inmates, and department information
  • Phone Communication: Answer, make, and direct phone calls while recording and distributing messages
  • Mail Processing: Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail and packages
  • Document Preparation: Type documents and correspondences and review them for grammar and numerical accuracy
  • Scheduling Support: Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and videoconferences and take minutes when needed
  • Record Management: Maintain filing systems, compile office activity records, and complete end of year archiving

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions
