Examples of duties

This role supports the daily operations of the office by managing information, assisting visitors, and keeping records organized. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Scanning and Imaging: Scan documents and maintain accurate electronic images
  • Data Entry: Enter information into automated systems with accuracy
  • Inquiry Support: Access automated systems to obtain needed information
  • Record Filing: Organize, file, and purge records according to required schedules
  • Visitor Reception: Greet visitors, record information, and direct them appropriately
  • Information Distribution: Review, sort, and distribute materials to the correct staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch.
  • This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6-8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance.
  • Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
  • Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If y ou are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in the Centre CAO. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Centre County. If no eligible candidates who live within Centre County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
