Examples of duties

This position supports the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board by providing office and clerical services that keep daily operations running smoothly. The role includes technical tasks, reception support, and document preparation. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Document Preparation: Type decisions, briefs, orders, and related materials using various computer programs
  • Office Formatting: Adjust formatting elements such as margins, spacing, and templates to meet established standards
  • Electronic Filing: Maintain organized electronic files using consistent naming conventions
  • Reception Backup: Assist with incoming mail, distribute email items, and prepare materials for staff
  • Case Processing: Prepare case files for archiving, verify scanned materials, and follow retention rules
  • General Support: Perform tasks such as filing, data entry, telephone answering, and document copying

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
