Examples of duties

This position provides office support that ensures smooth and accurate processing of petitions, forms, and communications within the Workers Compensation Office of Adjudication. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Form Processing: Handle petitions, match imaged forms to electronic files, and update file data in accordance with policy
  • Mail Handling: Retrieve, open, date stamp, and distribute incoming mail following established procedures
  • Document Indexing: Scan and index mailed petitions and other documents using correct reference information to ensure accuracy in WCAIS
  • Equipment Operation: Operate office tools such as computers, scanners, fax machines, and postage equipment
  • Customer Service: Communicate with external parties and assist callers with information and confirmations
  • Workflow Support: Cross train in other task areas to help balance operations and meet deadlines

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:This position may be eligible to telework part time upon successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
