Job Description

To manage and coordinate the customs clearance of goods for import and export in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Clearing and Forwarding Officer ensures timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments from various destinations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process imports and export documentation including customs declarations, shipping instructions, and permits.
• Liaise with customs authorities, shipping lines, port officials, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure timely clearance of shipments at ports.
• Track and follow up on consignments to ensure on-time delivery.
• Verify shipment documents such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Calculate and verify applicable duties, taxes, and other government charges.
• Maintain accurate records of all clearing transactions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant import/export laws and regulations.
• Resolve any delays or issues in customs clearance and communicate updates to internal departments.
• Support cost reduction efforts by optimizing logistics and clearance processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in clearing and forwarding, import/export logistics, or customs brokerage.
• Knowledge of customs regulations and international trade documentation.
• Familiarity with freight forwarding software and online customs clearance systems.
