We are currently recruiting for a Cleaning Services Supervisor in our Cleaning Services Department. Reporting to the Cleaning Services Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that the building is maintained to highest standard of cleaning that the MTCC has been recognized for throughout its history. Cleaning Services Supervisor plays an integral part to the success of the cleaning services team. Encouraging, coaching and teaching staff to complete the assigned tasks up to the MTCC’s high standard is of the upmost importance to this role’s success.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Ensure that the building is maintained to highest standard of cleaning
  • Ensure that the building is completely clean after each shift including booth and equipment cleaning, bulk trash and tape removal
  • Administer and ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to, including all health and safety and WHMIS legislation
  • Administrative duties which including scheduling, timesheets and accident reports
  • Supervise to guide and instruct for the purpose of performance and use of equipment and supplies.
  • Inspect buildings daily to ensure cleaning is maintained to high standard
  • Assisting with department weekly schedule to ensure alignment with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and operational demands
  • Training and overlooking job responsibilities of new and existing staff
  • Train staff on Health & Safety procedures
  • Check Sign In/Out sheets for equipment and ensure accuracy
  • Track and complete staff shift sign in sheets and ensure accuracy
  • Inspect and record bulk trash amounts for each event for the purpose of billing
  • Track supply inventory levels and request additional supplies when needed
  • Distribute reminders on show floor to increase sales and promote booth cleaning to clients
  • Provide and complete client order forms on the show floor
  • In absence of Manager, represent the department

Please note that this position includes rotated shifts, nights, weekends and holidays. On occasion you would be required to fill in for the Cleaning Services Manager.

 JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong working knowledge of power sweepers and scrubbers, plus high-speed floor machines
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a cleaning industry
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferably within a large facility is required
  • Work shifts on a rotational basis
  • Solid computer skills are required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Fluency in English is essential, French is an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
