Job Description

The Cleaning Room General role supports the finishing department. In this position, you will be working directly with iron castings. Castings enter the Cleaning Room on a conveyor. You and your team members – under the direction of a Team Lead - will inspect each casting and use hand-held tools to remove excess metal and then move the casting it to the appropriate conveyor or palette sometimes using a hoist or a winch. This is a physical position. You and your team members will be on your feet the entire shift, taking instruction and direction from a Team Lead. You will be working in a loud, warm, and dirty environment. You must be able to stand for extended periods of time, have good hand-eye coordination and possess the ability to multi-task. The position offers the opportunity for cross training and experience in a variety of tasks related to production.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

. Practice high levels of safety at all times

·Operate hoists to move castings over 50 lbs

·Load line for chippers/grinders

·Remove gating and risers with use of hammers or wedges

·Follow process sheets and work lists

·Sort castings into boxes or onto pallets

·Inspect and sort parts for defects

·Maintain cleanliness of production area

·Assembly of castings *

·Operate saw, pencil grinder, and basic hand tools as needed *

·Help with other tasks in department as needed

Education/Experience Requirements:

·Must be at least 18 years old to apply

·No educational requirements

·Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Shifts:

·Must be available to work 10 hour shifts

·Must be available for overtime as production needs require

·Monday – Friday

·Typical shift hours:

·1 shift: 4:45 am – 3:00 pm

·2 shift: 3:00 pm – 1:00 am

Pay rate:

·Base pay rate of $24.26, 2 shift premium: $1.50, 3 shift premium: $1.00

·Base rates increase $1.00/hour upon successful completion of probation (60 working days)
