Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team at Campus Reading International. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff, visitors and customers across communal office areas, and restaurant spaces.

This role requires a high attention to detail, excellent time management and the ability to work independently while maintaining high cleaning standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clean communal office areas, including desks, meeting rooms, reception areas and shared spaces.

· Vacuum, sweep and mop hard and carpeted floors.

· Clean restaurant and dining areas, ensuring floors, tables and high-touch surfaces are hygienically maintained.

· Empty waste and recycling bins and replace liners.

· Clean washroom facilities, replenishing consumables such as soap, toilet rolls and paper towels.

· Dust and wipe all accessible surfaces.

· Spot clean glass, doors and internal windows where required.

· Report maintenance issues, hazards or damaged equipment to the supervisor.

· Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely in accordance with COSHH and company procedures.

· Follow all Health & Safety policies and site-specific procedures.

· Ensure cleaning equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.

· Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous attitude at all times

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and safe working procedures.

Desirable

• Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
• Experience cleaning commercial offices or hospitality environments.
• Understanding of colour coding and infection prevention cleaning methods.

Physical Requirements

This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, bending, lifting, carrying cleaning equipment and operating cleaning machinery where required.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
• 25 hours per week

Salary - £12.71 p/h
