
Purpose of the Role
As an Environmental Services Assistant within the Environmental Services department, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of cleaning, waste management and customer service across the site.
You will take a proactive, hands-on approach to maintaining the external areas of the retail park, ensuring they are clean, safe and presentable at all times. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
You will support the wider site team, including management and tenants, to ensure service delivery consistently meets and exceeds expectations, while contributing positively to team performance and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver daily operational cleaning, waste and customer service duties across the external areas of the site
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety and security at all times
- Carry out litter picking, waste removal and bin management across the site as required
- Operate cleaning equipment including ride-on sweepers, pressure washers and leaf blowers (training provided)
- Ensure all equipment and machinery is used correctly, maintained and reported if faulty
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of cleaning materials and consumables, reporting requirements as needed
- Respond promptly to spillages, incidents and general cleaning requirements across the site
- Work independently and manage your workload effectively to meet daily standards and expectations
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations, COSHH requirements and site procedures
- Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or defects immediately to the Site Manager
- Support your line manager and wider team to ensure appropriate staffing levels and service delivery
- Maintain accurate records where required and follow all company policies and procedures
- Participate in training and development to support continuous improvement
- Take a proactive approach to improving standards, service delivery and overall site presentation
- Undertake any other reasonable duties required to meet the needs of the business
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.
Working Hours - 8 hrs per day (30 minute unpaid break). Monday to Friday. 40 hrs per week. 07:30 – 15:30
Salary - £12.71 per hr
