Job Description

Sewell Facilities provide a full range of tailored, cost effective packages, for all purposes across a variety of industry sectors. This includes planned and reactive buildings maintenance services and life cycle planning, together with the provision of soft services such as front of house, catering, cleaning, grounds maintenance and site supervision.

The multi-disciplined, multi-skilled Facilities team is supported by a strong supply chain and specialist service partners. Sewell Facilities are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year via a Helpdesk which is part of our Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.

Our Cleaners are responsible for carrying out general cleaning duties on site and supporting their wider team to ensure that all areas of the facility are cleaned to the highest possible standard.

Contract

  • Permanent, 43 weeks per year in total
  • Term time hours of work: Monday-Thursday 4.30pm - 7.30pm, Friday 4.00pm - 7.00pm (15 hours per week, 39 weeks per year)
  • School holiday deep cleaning hours: Christmas break, 1 week, 17.5 hours. Easter break, 1 week, 17.5 hours. Summer break, 2 weeks, 35 hours in total.

Key responsibilities

  • Cleaning duties on site include: vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, wiping and cleaning surfaces, skirtings, chairs and tables, cleaning of class rooms, staff rooms, kitchen areas, toilet areas and hallways
  • Supporting the Cleaning Manager and Supervisor by working overtime on occasion to cover for periods of holiday and sickness
  • Report any issues with cleaning equipment to Cleaning Supervisor/Cleaning Manager
  • Support the Cleaning Supervisor with deliveries, stock control and order requirements
  • Operate cleaning machinery such as floor/carpet cleaners, for which full training would be given

Requirements

Skills & Attributes:

  • A satisfactory Enhanced DBS (criminal background) check
  • Previous working experience within a cleaner role
  • A passion for delivering a world-class service
  • A ‘hands on’ approach to working and be able to use own initiative
  • A positive, approachable and professional attitude and demeanour
  • The ability to work both as a team member, and alone in a busy working environment
  • Possess a positive approach to learning, development and progression
  • Be able to work flexibly to cover holiday and sickness periods when required
