Regular Part-Time

(Up to 24 hours per week; must be available to work evenings and weekends)

We are currently seeking a Regular Part-Time, Cleaner to join our Facilities Department

Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Facility Services, the incumbent will provide housekeeping, event set-up, and general maintenance services.Assists in the clean and orderly maintenance of AGO property.

The rate of pay for this position is $22.59 - $28.25 per hour.

What is this position responsible for?

  • Work safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, responding to calls for service requests
  • Clean washrooms, including cubicles, mirrors, fixtures, waste receptacles, walls and floors; replenish paper products, personal hygiene items and soap.
  • Monitor all public areas and washrooms during open hours to maintain general cleanliness and restock supplies as needed.
  • Perform a variety of housekeeping tasks in offices and back-of-house areas, along with special projects and heavy‑duty cleaning to ensure the cleanliness of the gallery
  • Adhere to AGO service standards and policies, including Health & Safety.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment used for all aspects of the job; reports building and equipment maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Sets up furniture for events.

What are we looking for?

  • Ability to perform repetitive activities such as lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, walking, answering radio calls
  • Follow oral and written instructions, and communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet timelines
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
  • Experience with general cleaning equipment an asset
  • Ability to work independently or within a group without direct supervision
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and attention to detail required
  • Willingness to be an integral part of an organization possessing a positive, can‑do attitude
