Required Qualifications: Per Civil Service Standards and Specifications. There are no education or experience requirements. Applicants must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor. Applicants must be able to follow and understand simple verbal and/or written instructions in English.
Brief Description of Duties: Cleaners work independently or as part of a work team that performs a wide range of specialized and routine cleaning activities such as stripping and polishing floors, window washing, vacuuming, trash and recycling removal, dusting and cleaning walls, office space, kitchens and common areas, hospital and clean rooms, laboratories, residential facilities, and restrooms. The nature of the cleaning assignments ranges from light, medium, to heavy physical effort. The class is non-supervisory.
Special Notes: This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Mandatory rehire roster candidates have preference. SG 5 Hiring Rate $17,748 per year at .50% FTE.
