Howmans Gap Alpine Discovery Camp are seeking passionate Cleaners to join the team for the upcoming winter season!

About the Role

As a Cleaner working over the course of the 2026 Winter Season at Howmans Gap Alpine Discovery Camp, you will play a vital role in maintaining our facilities to the highest standard, ensuring every corner of our camp is welcoming and ready for adventure. Your work helps create a pristine environment where young people can make unforgettable memories.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Spotless spaces: keeping our accommodation and activity spaces clean using specialised equipment and eco-friendly products.
  • Inventory management: managing and organising cleaning supplies to ensure we are always prepared.
  • Maintenance awareness: reporting maintenance needs promptly to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Team support: pitching in with light gardening and general duties when needed to support the wider team.

This is a casual position paying up to $31.48 per hour + Super.

The Howmans Gap winter season for 2026 is anticipated to begin on the 20th June and conclude 12th September - subject to change based on weather.

About Howmans Gap Alpine Discovery Camp

Howmans Gap Alpine Discovery Camp is an alpine centre and adventure camp located by Falls Creek, and managed by YMCA Camps. Catering to schools and groups year-round, the team at Howmans Gap run a variety of programs and activities to suit every group, from skiing and tobogganing in winter, to orienteering and mountain biking in summer. Featuring state-of-the-art accessible accommodation, cosy cottages, and full catering options, Howmans Gap Alpine Discovery Centre is the perfect place to explore the great outdoors, come snow or sunshine.

Falls Creek is the premier destination for cross country skiing in Victoria and with 65km of groomed cross country trails it is one of the biggest cross-country areas in Australia. This vast trail net provides plenty of suitable options for complete beginner cross country skiers through to advanced.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
