Job Description

Entry Level Facilities Cleaning Position. Hours are 3:00 am-11:00 am. The shift will be Tuesday-Saturday.

Purpose and role of job:

Responsible for cleaning assigned areas on the McElhattan Campus.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

• Observes all safety rules and uses proper safety equipment at all times.
• Perform janitorial services in designated areas of the facility including: offices, restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, etc.
• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, windows, trash, stocking, etc.
• Fill in for call-offs, vacations, etc (including the need to work alternate days/hours, etc.).
• When necessary, perform duties outside the scope of the routine responsibility list (in the interest of maintaining our cleaning standard). Be accountable for the area assigned

Education and experience requirements:

• Mechanically inclined
• Must have a high level of initiative, and attention to detail
• Must be able to work in a flexible, team oriented environment
• Possess interpersonal skills
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Prior industrial cleaning experience preferred

Work Environment:

• Work environment exposed to dust

Physical Requirements:

• Constant walking/standing throughout 8 hour shift
• Occasional bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching overhead during shift
• Occasional pushing or pulling with the legs and frequent pushing or pulling with the arms throughout shift
• Frequent lifting or carrying of 10 lbs or less with occasional lifting or carrying of 11-50 lbs
• Frequent repetitive use of hands during the workday
• Frequent simple/light grasping and occasional firm/strong grasping throughout the day
