Job Title

Cleaner- 2nd ShiftFacilities Cleaner plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall functionality of the facility during both day and night shifts. This position ensures that restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, break areas, and common spaces are consistently clean, sanitized, and well-stocked.
Whether working during the day or overnight, the Facilities Cleaner supports a safe and welcoming environment by completing routine cleaning tasks, responding to service needs, and performing deep cleaning duties as required. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism at all times.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, and floors
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust offices, hallways, meeting rooms, and common areas
  • Empty and dispose of trash and recycling in all designated areas
  • Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer
  • Wipe down and disinfect high-touch surfaces including door handles, light switches, and elevator buttons
  • Maintain cleanliness in break rooms and kitchenettes, including wiping counters, tables, and appliances
  • Respond to cleaning or maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues (e.g., spills, broken fixtures, low supplies)
  • Ensure equipment and cleaning supplies are used safely and stored properly
  • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures, including proper use of PPE
  • Perform special cleaning tasks and projects as assigned by Regional Facilities Manager and Building Engineer.

JOB RELATIONS:

  • This position reports directly to the Regional Facilities Manager.
  • Works closely with:
    • Other cleaning and maintenance staff coordinating duties and ensure consistent cleanliness
    • Building occupants or employees to respond to service requests and maintain a clean environment
    • Security or operations personnel to report safety issues or facility concerns
  • May interact with:
    • Vendors or delivery personnel when restocking supplies
    • Visitors or guests, providing courteous assistance as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 2–3 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, or facilities support roles preferred.
  • Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in one or more of the following areas: professional office environments, educational or institutional facilities, and/or floor care and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques, tools, and janitorial equipment (e.g., vacuums, buffers, mop systems).
  • Familiarity with safety procedures related to chemical use, lifting, and general facility maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and presentation.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English; bilingual a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role operates in a professional office environment as well as industrial/warehouse type environments both indoors and outside during hot and cold climates. This role routinely uses both maintenance tools and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers to accomplish tasks. May be the only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority / emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and / or stand-by on-call duties

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $15.30 - $18.00
