Position Summary:
Wausau Tile is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to perform comprehensive production cleaning and equipment sanitation. This role ensures all machinery and work areas are thoroughly cleaned, maintained, and ready for immediate startup. The position requires strict adherence to lockout/tagout procedures, teamwork, and attention to safety, quality, and cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet with the Operations Manager and machine operators to identify special cleaning needs or priority areas.
- Work as part of a team to clean all production areas and prepare machines for next-day startup.
- Coordinate with key operators at the start of each shift to identify any special cleaning needs.
- Disassemble designated machine parts using basic hand tools to access all cleaning areas.
- Clean all surfaces to remove cement, pigment, sediment, and aggregate buildup using shovels, scrapers, water hoses, spray nozzles, or pressure washers.
- Lock out power and perform deep cleaning of planetary and dosage mixers, including removal of cement, dye residue, disassembly of components, and application of release oil.
- Clean air lines, dosage cups, plates, bins, presses, press heads, aspirator heads, suction machines, and resin applicators.
- Pressure wash grinding machines, diamond heads, water bars, floors, pits, gutters, tanks, and water systems according to daily, periodic, and scheduled intervals.
- Monitor and service mud press, J-Press, SiltaWay system, CO₂ system, water pumps, and filtration systems.
- Remove waste, sludge, baghouse material, resin waste, garbage, recyclables, and clean reusable aggregate bags.
- Perform routine shutdown procedures, housekeeping duties, and preventative maintenance cleaning as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, shoveling, lifting, and repetitive motion.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with pressurized water, cleaning tools, and industrial equipment.
- Exposure to wet conditions, cement dust, chemicals, noise, and manufacturing environment hazards.
