Job Description

Orange & Rockland is leading the clean energy transition in New York and New Jersey. We are investing millions of dollars annually to provide customers with the tools to better manage their energy use, scale the adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies while targeting customers in disadvantaged communities, and minimizing infrastructure investment with clean energy solutions whenever possible.

The Customer Energy Services department is seeking a creative and analytical strategic leader with experience in the clean energy transition. The Clean Energy Project Lead is responsible for leading the analysis, standardization, modernization, and integration of energy efficiency program data across multiple systems and sources. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely and transparent regulatory reporting by improving data quality, developing scalable data solutions and userfriendly tools and dashboards that streamline reporting workflows.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with regulatory and planning team, leadership team, program implementation managers, IT and thirdparty vendors to deliver accurate, transparent and auditable reporting. This role requires advanced expertise in data analytics and visualization, a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and reporting requirements, and the ability to clearly communicate complex data concepts and findings to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders, while supporting longterm data standardization and modernization initiatives.

This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.

Core Responsibilities

  • Supports the Company's long-term data standardization and modernization initiatives by leading the analysis and modernization of energy efficiency data systems to improve scalability, automation, data quality and auditability.
  • Leads comprehensive analysis of energy efficiency data across measure, project, program, and portfolio levels to support streamlined regulatory reporting and adhoc data requests.
  • Oversees the implementation, administration, and ongoing maintenance of the Data Management and Tracking Tool as the system of record for all energy efficiency programs.
  • Develops, implements and maintains a robust data management solution that will ingest, validate and transform data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Manages the enforcement of data standards, definitions and naming conventions to improve data quality and consistency.
  • Leads comprehensive data integration from various systems such as the Data Management and Tracking Tool, customer meter data and third-party data files.
  • Serves as a subjectmatter expert in troubleshooting data discrepancies and work with stakeholders to resolve data gaps or inconsistencies.
  • Demonstrates an ability to design and build dashboards, reporting tools, or data platforms that consolidate energy efficiency data into a single, trusted source.
  • Continuously improves tools and dashboards based on feedback, evolving requirements and changing regulations.
  • Partners with regulatory and planning team, leadership team, program implementation managers, IT and external vendors to define data needs and system requirements.
  • Demonstrates an ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years' of related work experience

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Master's Degree in the fields of Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or other related technical disciplines and 2 years of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Clean Energy/Energy Efficiency, Data Analytics, Project Management, Business Management
  • Bachelor's Degree in the fields of Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or other related technical disciplines and 3 years of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Clean Energy/Energy Efficiency, Data Analytics, Project Management, Business Management

Relevant Work Experience

  • Strong analytical and technical skills, required.
  • Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines, required.
  • Ability to structure and analyze large and complex datasets, required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including use of complex formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and large dataset management, required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and proven track record of achieving sustainable results in managing projects, and process documentation, required.
  • Ability to lead discussions and influence outcomes across functional teams, required.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments including Commission Orders, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations, preferred.
  • Strong experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar enterprise platforms), preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Driver's License Required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred

Additional Physical Demands

  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within O&R and CECONY service territory, as needed.
