Job Location: Pawhuska - Pawhuska, OK 74056 Position Type: Regular Full-TimeEducation Level: 2 Year Degree Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Job Category: EducationThe primary responsibility of the Daposka Ahnkodapi Classroom Teacher is to teach core curriculum and develop a community of Osage learners. The Teacher will be required to teach core skills and objectives as prescribed by State standards. Additionally, students cultivate understanding and appreciation of Osage culture, inspiring self- esteem and strengthening attitudes among students and their community. The classroom Teacher creates lesson plans and teaches those plans to the entire class, individually to students or in small groups, tracks student progress, creates tests, reinforces classroom rules, and prepares students for standardized tests.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required - Associate’s degree required - Work in an educational environment preferred - Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics - Requires a willingness to learn new skills - Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs - Must possess good writing and speaking abilities - Must have the ability to multi-task and teach a variety of students - Requires a high level of problem-solving skills - Maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents Daposka Ahnkodapi and the Osage Nation - Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills - Must maintain confidentiality at all times - Must be able to pass a criminal background check - Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing
