Job Title: Classified Documents Contract Specialist (Secret Clearance)

The highly organized, detail-driven, and security-minded candidate will provide Information Security (INFOSEC) support to a government agency in Arlington, VA. The candidate must have a strong background in Security, and must be customer-focused, punctual, proactive, collaborative, and flexible, with the ability to build strong working relationships with staff and customers at all levels.

Responsibilities:

  • "Review" proposed publications; execute, enforce, and implement appropriate regulation, policy, and law related to INFOSEC.
  • Establish and maintain liaisons with Program Managers (PO’s) and Administrative Assistants (AO’s), as it pertains to the Public Release Request Tool (PRRT).
  • "Assist "in the implementation of an effective information security education program, as it relates to military, civilian, and contract employees.
  • Prevent security violations, including suspected compromises or other threats to the safeguarding of classified information, and the unauthorized disclosure of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • "Assist" the INFOSEC officer on matters related to proper classification marking for classified and CUI information.
  • "Assist" in the mandatory review of classified, CUI, and unclassified information compile for presentation and sharing.
  • Monitor the Original Classification Authorities (OCA’s) annual training requirement that must be forwarded to the Department of the Navy on an annual basis.
  • "Provide input" supporting directorates on publication of security classification guides (SCGs).
  • Coordinate with scientific, technical, and other subject matter experts to assess risk of loss, value of loss, and the classification level appropriate to information sensitivity.
  • "Assist" and advise senior leadership in matters pertaining to the enforcement of regulations governing the access to, and the dissemination, reproduction, transmission, transportation, safeguarding, and destruction of classified or CUI information and material.
  • Develop an effective liaison with the contract office and site Contracting Officer Representatives (COR) to effectively assist in managing classified contracts and the Industrial Security Program officer.
  • "Review" DD 254s and provide guidance to the CORs and Program Managers in the preparation of the Contract Security Classification Specification requirements.
  • Perform Foreign Disclosure Representative (FDR) duties.
  • Coordinate with the FDO prior to approval of Foreign Visits Request (FVR); review and make suggestions for the release of government information to foreign government representatives.
  • Perform initial and annual refresher foreign disclosure training.
  • "Assist" in responding to request for information (RFI) from foreign embassies by way of the Security Automation Policy Network (SPAN).
  • Review proposed publications; execute, enforce, and implement appropriate regulation, policy, and law related to INFOSEC.
  • Liaise with PO’s and AO’s as it pertains to the Public Release Request Tool (PRRT).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship
  • Active DoD SECRET Clearance
  • Possess either (1) an Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as a Security Specialist or (2) a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Security Specialist
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Possess a working knowledge of (1) JPAS or (2) other automated database system
  • Possess a working knowledge of DEERS and RAPIDS
