Job Description

The Department of Classics at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a one-year non-renewable Lecturer for academic year 2026-27. The successful candidate will teach courses in introductory and intermediate Latin, as well as large first year courses in Roman Civilization and Classical Mythology. Qualifications

Applicants must have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. no later than August 15, 2026. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated experience teaching at a public university in the US, including demonstrated ability to teach large classes in classical culture and mythology.

Interested applicants are invited to submit a letter of interest, detailed curriculum vitae, and a list of courses taught, including approximate class size.
