As a Class & Flag State Administrator, you are responsible for managing the certification and documentation of the DEME fleet. You ensure that all vessels are properly certified in line with Class and Flag State requirements and remain compliant at all times.
You work closely with classification societies, flag state authorities and internal teams to make sure certificates, surveys and documentation are correct and up to date. The role is well suited for someone with experience in a classification society or within a marine company dealing with class and flag coordination.
Managing vessel certificates received from classification societies and flag authorities.
Checking certificates for correctness (naming, scope, issue and expiry dates).
Correctly naming, archiving and uploading documents in internal systems (e.g. SharePoint).
Maintaining ship status and certificate tracking in Excel.
Monitoring survey cycles (annual, intermediate and renewal/special surveys).
Following up surveys from an administrative and coordination perspective (no execution).
Retrieving certificates from external portals such as DNV Veracity, ABS MyFreedom, LR Client Portal and NaviCert.
Ensuring compliance with ISM, ISPS, MLC, SOLAS and other relevant maritime regulations.
Coordinating with vessel teams, internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve missing or incorrect documentation.
At least 3 years of relevant experience within a classification society (DNV, ABS, LR, BV) or a marine company involved in class and flag survey coordination.
Good understanding of class and flag documentation and certification processes.
Familiar with common maritime certificates (e.g. CoR, CoS, ISM/ISPS/MLC, SOLAS certificates).
Strong administrative skills and very high attention to detail
Comfortable working with Excel and documentation systems such as SharePoint.
Used to working with classification society portals.
Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
Holds a valid driver’s license (B).
