Clean Harbors in Brantford, ON is seeking a local Class AZ Driver/ Waste Technician to join their safety conscious team! The role is required to support the collection, transportation, handling, and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. This role combines professional driving responsibilities with waste management operations, regulatory compliance and a commitment to customer service. Transportation & Equipment Operations

  • Responsible for the transportation of hazardous/non-hazardous waste adhering to Transport Canada and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations/requirements.
  • Safely operate and maintain assigned commercial vehicles, including straight trucks, van trailers, and other fleet equipment.
  • Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles remain mechanically sound and roadworthy.
  • Ensure proper vehicle placarding, load securement, and documentation in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Drive in a safe and professional manner while maintaining compliance with all transportation laws and company policies.

Waste Management Operations

  • Load, unload, package, sort, segregate, and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
  • Prepare shipping labels, manifests, bills of lading, and other transportation documents using company software and technology platforms.
  • Verify drum counts, inspect container conditions, and ensure all materials meet shipping and handling requirements.
  • Perform quality control checks and accurately sort waste streams according to customer contracts and regulatory standards.
  • Support waste segregation, lab packing, and material consolidation activities as required.
  • Operate material handling equipment and safely move drums, totes, skids, and containers.
  • Valid Class AZ Driver's License required with experience operating.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation to commute to the facility every day.
  • Previous hazardous waste, environmental services, or industrial services preferred.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification and hazardous waste handling experience highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to operate vehicles equipped with an 18-speed manual transmission.
  • Experience with waste segregation, lab packing, and environmental compliance practices is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of transportation safety, load securement, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks including loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
