Job Description

DM Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is hiring an experienced Class A CDL Driver to operate a variety of specialized equipment, including hook lift trucks, grapple trucks, and mosquito trucks used for debris, yard waste, and bulky material collection throughout Western Washington, with primary service areas based around Fife, Washington.

This role is work order–based rather than route-based, requiring flexibility and the ability to travel to different job sites across the region. It is a hands-on, equipment-focused position that combines skilled driving with the operation of hydraulic systems to safely pick up, load, and transport materials that standard collection vehicles cannot handle.

If you have experience operating manual-transmission trucks and working with roll-off, hook-lift, grapple, or other heavy equipment, and are seeking a stable, full-time driving position with competitive pay and strong benefits, this is a great opportunity.

Pay and Schedule

Competitive hourly wage: $35.00–$35.50 per hour
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed
Approximately 45-hour work week with overtime opportunities

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A CDL vehicles, including hook lift, grapple, and mosquito trucks

  • Operate manual transmission vehicles (10, 13, or 18-speed)

  • Complete assigned work orders at various customer locations across Western Washington

  • Travel between job sites, with primary service concentrated in the Fife area

  • Pick up, load, and transport bulky debris, yard waste, and other materials

  • Operate hydraulic equipment to manage and move large or irregular loads

  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks

  • Secure loads and comply with DOT and company safety standards

  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and interact professionally with customers

  • Accurately complete required logs, inspections, and documentation

  • Follow all safe driving practices, including use of onboard safety technology

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing 50 pounds or more

  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Exposure to noise, vibration, fumes, and moving mechanical parts

  • Frequent entry and exit from the vehicle

  • Travel throughout Western Washington as part of daily responsibilities

  • Adherence to strict safety procedures at all times

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement

  • Experience operating manual transmission trucks (10, 13, or 18-speed) required

  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience

  • Experience with hook lift, grapple, roll-off, or similar equipment preferred

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English for safety and job-related tasks

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

This position is classified as safety-sensitive and is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements.
