A professional driver who has acquired a commercial driver's license (Class A, CDL) to operate trucks or commercial vehicles to transport materials and heavy equipment.

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive and operate a variety of trucks and trailers with a gross weight of over 26,000 lbs.
  • Follow instructions; review and read location and road maps
  • Pre-inspect truck daily by following a checklist.
  • Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed throughout Wisconsin.
  • Load and unload cargo.
  • Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy.
  • Home daily with local routes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Experience: minimum six months of OTR experience required; two - three years of Class A experience preferred.
  • Licenses: CDL – Class A required.
  • No serious or preventable traffic violations/accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
  • No convictions for DUI/DWI/OWI or reckless driving involving drugs or alcohol in the past seven years.
  • Understanding of traffic laws and DOT regulations.
  • Forklift operating experience, required.
  • Ability to pass random drug tests.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have leadership responsibilities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel is required using a company vehicle.
