Midland Transport is currently seeking a professional Class 1 Shunt Driver based in Dieppe, NB The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.

Main Role:

The Shunt Driver is responsible for moving units within the assigned yards safely and efficiently, including positioning units at the doors and returning them to the yard, with occasional moves between terminals.

Shift: 4 days on – 4 days off (1830-0630 or 0630-1830)

• Move trailers safely and efficiently between the plant and yard

• Complete regular yard checks, including verifying all equipment onsite, fuel levels, reefer settings, and inside box temperatures

• Communicate any equipment issues to the Midland Shop or to Logistics for outside carriers, ensuring no compromised equipment goes unidentified

• Execute other tasks as required

• Occasional moves between terminals as required

• Education Required: High School or GED.

• Class 1 driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years’ safe tractor driving experience required.

• Clean driver’s abstract and criminal search.

• Good communication skills.

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Able to lift to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.

• Excellent work ethic and reliability.

• Safety conscious.
